West Champaran’s 17-year-old Priya Jaiswal has brought a big smile on the faces of her family and school by topping the Bihar Board Intermediate Science Examination. Not only has her performance brought joy to those around her, but it also made good grounds for what she wants to achieve in the field of medicine.

Priya’s academic career has been characterized by sheer excellence. She had already gained recognition in 2023 when she ranked eighth in the Bihar matriculation exams. Topping the state in the science stream has pushed her success to greater heights, though. Referring to her achievement, Priya called it “very, very special” and credited her success to her parents’ unflinching support, teachers, and her own strict study regimen.
Priya’s government employee father and homemaker mother have been constant pillars of encouragement during her studies. Priya’s parents provided her with a stable atmosphere favorable for concentrated learning. Online resources and coaching classes were also noted by Priya as useful in understanding difficult scientific principles.
“I maintained a rigorous study routine, concentrating on comprehending the fundamentals instead of mere memorization,” Priya added. She highlighted that regular revision and working on previous years’ question papers were some of the strategies that helped her achieve success.
Even though she has just won a recent victory, Priya is already thinking about her next test—passing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) to gain admission to a premier medical college. Her dream is to become a doctor, but her long-term dream is to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer once she has completed her medical course.
My dream is to contribute to society in some way. Being a doctor will enable me to directly help people, but being an IAS officer will provide me with the platform to effect larger social change,” Priya said.
Her tale has motivated not just her peers and instructors but also scholars from around Bihar who aspire for scholarship. Priya’s achievement is a witness to the strength of hard work, correct counseling, and a single-minded vision.
Educationists have commended Priya’s balanced study regimen and her staying power under pressure. “Priya’s success is a testimonial to her thorough understanding of scientific principles and her capability of applying them to real-life situations,” stated one of her educators.
Priya’s success arrives at a time when the Bihar Board has recorded higher general pass percentage in the science stream. Her success story is testimony to the need for quality education and the influence of caring family and mentors on the career of a student.
As she prepares for NEET, Priya stays grounded and focused on her aspirations. “This is just the start,” she smiled. “I know that through hard work and dedication, I can make my dreams a reality.”
Priya Jaiswal’s success is a beaming example of how determination, the right guidance, and a clear vision can open doors to success. Her journey will certainly motivate many young learners to dream big and work hard to attain their aspirations.
